You don’t pay for an RV campground so you can spend the whole time away from your RV, right? Sure, there’s a lot to do in the Texas Hill Country area surrounding us. But what about right here at our campground? Will you and your group get bored during your stay?
That’s a lot of questions, but they’re fair ones for first-time visitors to have. To set your mind at ease, we thought we’d take the time to share a few interesting places you can pass the time while you’re staying at Pecan Park Riverside RV Park.
1/ Down by the San Marcos River

We are blessed to have an amazing location. The San Marcos River runs just down the grassy hill from our RV sites. A leisurely walk, and you’re poised for tubing, kayaking, swimming, and lounging on the shore.
During the hot months of the year, the San Marcos River is one of the most sought-after destinations in our entire region. Park your home on wheels right next to it, and you’ll quickly see what Texas summer is really about!
2/ Swimming Pool and Hot Tub

Can’t get enough of the water? We have even more options here. Our swimming pool and hot tub are both located indoors. They’re good when it’s raining, you want to swim laps, or your smaller kids want to play (we have a shallow kiddie pool in addition to the full-sized pool).
And here’s another thing to consider. MD Anderson recommends staying out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you want your kids to avoid sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day, our covered pool is UV-free.
3/ Cowboy Cookout

If you’re having a reunion or rally, you may want to spread out a little. Our guests are always welcome at the Cowboy Cookout, with a beautiful view overlooking the San Marcos River.
We have a large fire pit where you can grill or make s’mores, as long as we don’t have a campground event on the calendar. Just check with the office to be sure!
4/ Activity Room

Our activity room is an under-utilized place to hang out at Pecan Park! During office hours, guests can take advantage of the book and puzzle exchange, or our movie rentals.
We also have an inviting children’s corner in the activity room, with books and toys.

Office hours are currently 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday (closed for the lunch hour).
5/ Dog Parks

Pecan Park has two fenced dog parks on the property. So if you have furry family members, this is a wonderful place to let them run while you meet other dog owners at the campground.
6/ Playground

Parents have all heard the excited exclamations that mean their young children have spotted a playground. You don’t have to go into San Marcos to find one because we have a playscape right on our property.
For your convenience, our playground is located directly outside the laundry room. This way, you can wash and fold while keeping an eye on your happy littles.
