While the annual Chisholm Trail Roundup doesn’t take place at the state park, Lockhart State Park will have a booth with activities like ancient spear throwing and fishing rod casting. The Chisholm Trail Roundup as a whole is a don’t-miss event, so you’ll find lots to do.

On this bird hike at Austin’s state park, you’ll learn how to identify feathered friends by sight and sound. Bring binoculars, drinking water, and closed-toed shoes. You may hike across the falls, so wear shoes that can get wet. We recommend you arrive early with a picnic dinner. You can even take a dip in the falls to cool down!
